Lost in the 'Backlog': My Customer Service Nightmare 😫

I'm writing this as a warning about my terrible online shopping experience. I needed to share this because after seeing all the one-star reviews that had the exact same experience which I did, I am not surprised. I ordered glasses on May 4th and was assured they would be finished on May 11th. It is now May 26th and I keep getting emails apologizing for the delay. This endless waiting and lack of clear information is what forced me to try and get a real answer from customer service.

Customer: My order was supposed to be ready on May 11th. It’s now the 26th. All I get are generic apology emails. Can you please tell me where my glasses actually are?

CS Rep: I am very sorry to hear about the delay. Let me look into that for you. Can you please provide me with your order number?

Customer: It’s #587432. I need a real update, not just another apology. The website said they'd be done over two weeks ago. This is unacceptable.

CS Rep: I understand your frustration. I see your order is still being processed in our lab due to an unexpected backlog. We sincerely apologize for this.

Customer: A backlog? For weeks? That’s not a real answer. When will I get my order? I tried calling before and spoke to someone who was absolutely no help at all.

CS Rep: I am escalating your case to our lab supervisor for an immediate status check. As an apology for the significant delay and your poor experience, I can process a 25% refund on your order right now.

The reason I left this review on the website is to hopefully prevent others from falling into the same trap.
